"One death is a tragedy, a million deaths is a statistic"
-Joseph Stalin
Everyday we hear more and more about deaths from pretty much everywhere. We hear that people are getting bombed in Iraq, Sri Lanka, Pakistan...etc, and all we do is just say that there are so and so number of dead, and this many people injured. What does this tell people? People don't really react that much to numbers. I guess it's just a part of how humans think. However devastation becomes much more apparent if you attach a name, a picture, and a life behind each death. If we as a people do this, wouldn't it make people less likely to start wars, knowing that the person opposite of them are pretty much the same as them? Maybe I'm having too much faith in people, but maybe people just don't have enough.
